Dry Ingredients Mixture: In a big bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and salt by sifting them. Mix the cold, cut-up butter into the dry ingredients using a pastry blender or two forks until the mixture looks like small crumbs.
Mix the milk, egg, and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
Making the fritter dough: Pour the liquid mix into the dry ingredients and stir gently until everything is mixed, being careful not to mix too much. Mix the diced apples carefully.
Forming the fritters: Using a 1/4 cup, place the dough on the baking sheet. For smaller fritters, you can use a full tablespoon instead.
Baking: Put in the oven that has been heated beforehand for about 11-13 minutes, or until the bottom of the fritters turns golden brown and the middle is firm. If you are making smaller fritters, start checking if they are ready after about 8 minutes.
Broiling: Once the fritters are baked, take them out of the oven and turn up the heat to broil.
Making the glaze: While the oven is heating up, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until it’s smooth.
To add the glaze, lightly brush it over each fritter. Then, put them under the broiler for 2-4 minutes until the tops turn golden and the glaze starts to bubble.

Final Step: Take the pastries out of the oven and place them on a cooling rack. Put another layer of glaze on the fritters while they are still warm.
Serving tip: Let the glaze harden before serving the fritters. It’s best to serve them while they are still warm for the most delicious taste and texture.
Storage Tip: These fritters are best eaten on the day they are made, but you can keep them in a sealed container at room temperature for up to 24 hours for short-term enjoyment.
