  • Garlic is a common ingredient in many kitchens because it adds a strong taste and has many health advantages. Preserving garlic correctly can make it last longer, so you always have fresh garlic available for cooking. Here are some useful ways and advice for keeping garlic fresh for a long time.

Preserving Fresh Garlic

Steps: Once you have picked fresh garlic, let it dry for a couple of weeks in a warm, dry, and well-ventilated place. Hang the garlic in groups or place them on a shelf.

Purpose: Drying the outer layers of the bulb during curing forms a protective layer that makes it last longer.

Keeping in a cool and dry location.

Instructions: After curing, keep garlic bulbs in a mesh bag, paper bag, or basket in a cool, dry area with good air flow. The best temperature for storage is between 60-65°F (15-18°C) with low humidity.

Advice: Do not keep garlic in plastic bags or containers because they can trap moisture and cause it to spoil.
